Unless you devotedly follow Hyundai news, you may have missed its recent announcement regarding New Horizons Studio. We at Gossett Hyundai South wanted to fill you in on this news since it’s a really cool bit of information.

Meet The UMV

New Horizons Studio is a brand-new group within Hyundai that has one particular focus: the development of Ultimate Mobility Vehicles. What’s a UMV? Hyundai VP Dr. John Suh, who’s in charge of New Horizons Studio, explained it best: “We aim to create the world’s first transformer-class vehicle, also known as the Ultimate Mobility Vehicle.”

These transformer vehicles will be far unlike traditional four-wheel cars that only glide across paved roads.

Off-Roading Like Never Before

Hyundai’s planned Ultimate Mobility Vehicles will be able to travel to places in ways that no automobile has been able to before. For example, this vehicle may consist of a pod with four robotic, extendable legs that can walk up stairs or across boulders. It’s an idea that we’ve already seen in development last year in the automaker’s ‘Elevate’ Walking Car Concept.

A future of mobility like this is still a long way away, but Hyundai’s commitment to revolutionizing transportation in ways like this show the company’s drive to evolve as society’s needs evolve. That’s why you can trust that Hyundai keeps pushing technology ahead in even its 2021 and 2022 models available at Gossett Hyundai South.
